ISBD outline

Title proper = parallel title : other title information / first statement of responsibility ; each subsequent statement of responsibility . – Edition statement / statement of responsibility relating to the edition. Place of publication : publisher, date of publication. – pagination : illustration + accompanying material.

* Parallel Title = tajuk yang mungkin dwi bahasa
* / other title information =  orang yang bertanggungjawab, contoh: penyusun: nama orang yang menyusun
guna rule AACR2

* - Edition statement = kalau edisi kedua dan seterusnya, kalau edisi pertama tak payah tulis/beritahu

* / statement of responsibility = siapa yang bertanggungjawab terhadap edisi tersebut

* date of publication - tahun terbit dan tahun cetak adalah lain, selagi tak ubah content maka dikira ulang cetak, kecuali kalau ubah content, baru dikira edisi baru/edisi seterusnya.

*  -pagination, contoh iix, 529
*  + accompanying material (kalau ada bahan-bahan sampingan, contohnya sesetengah buku ada CD
*  Naskah, beberapa copy buku yang sama
*  Jilid atau volume (beberapa buah buku dikoleksikan).
*  ISBN: price (harga buku, biasanya untuk rujukan harga bagi penggantian kalau buku hiang).

* Setiap naskah memiliki kod ISBN yang sama, tetapi volume mungkin berbeza.

First level (level paling rendah)
Title proper / first statement of responsibility, if different from main entry heading in form or if there is no main entry heading. – Edition statement. – materials (or type of publication) specific details. - first publisher,
etc., date of publication, etc., – Extent of items .- Note (s). – Standard number

GMD - General Material Designation



Second level
Second level of description
Title proper [GMD] = Parallel title : other title information / first statement of responsibility ; each subsequent
statement of responsibility. – Edition statement. – Materials (or type of publication) specific details. – First place of publication : first publisher, etc., date of publication, etc. – Extent of item : other physical details ; dimensions. – (Title proper of series) – Note(s). – Standard number.

CONTOH:

-ada nama orang yang bertanggungjawab

Third Level
Includes all elements set out in the AACR2 rules that are applicable to the item being described.
Large libraries in Malaysia agreed to use the 2nd level. School libraries - 1st Level

Authorware [GMD = Computer Programme <--software kita guna istilah ni]
Brittanica [CD-ROM <--- sebab dalam bentuk CD]

untuk computer program, tidak ada pysical detail, tetapi kita boleh letak notes, contohnya boleh run pakai windows apa, compatible dengan komputer jenis apa,

Kaset jenis apa PAL ke, NTSC ke,

untuk filem kita boleh letak dalam note, filem warna (COL) atau tidak (B&W),

biasanya maklumat yang kita kumpul untuk AACR2 rule, kita ambil title page (kulit kertas putih biasa, yang mennyerupai cover buku).
